About Course

B.A.M.S. a graduate degree course of Ayurveda awarded after the study of five and a half years duration, including 1-year internship.

The aim of this program, producing Ayurved graduates having profound knowledge of asthanag ayurved supplemented with knowledge of scientific advances in modern medicine along with extensive practical training, who will become efficient physicians and surgeons fully competent to serve the health care services.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate wishing admission to first professional B.A.M.S. should have qualified H.S.E.B. (Science Stream) with ‘B’ group or equivalent examination and should have cleared in NEET in current academic year.

Course Design

As per the Indian Medicine Central Council, a five & half year syllabus is reconstructed in four professional years followed by compulsory roatary internship duty of 12 months.

THE FIRST PROFESSIONAL deals with mainly 05 subjects i.e Rachana Sharir(Anatomy), Kriya Sharir(Physiology), Ashtanga Hridya, Padarth Vigyan (Philosophy of Ayurved) & History of Ayurved and Sanskrit.

THE SECOND PROFESSIONAL includes 04 subjects: Dravya Guna (Pharmacology), Rasa Shastra-Bhaishjya Kalpana (Pharmaceutical science), Roga Nidan evam Vikruti Vigyan (Pathology and microbiology) and Charak Samhita (Purvardh).

THE THIRD PROFESSIONAL comprises 05 subjects: Swastha vritta & yoga (Preventive social medicine and yoga), Stri Prasuti Tantra (Gynaecology and Obstetrics), Kaumarbhritya (Paediatrics), Agad Tantra (Toxicology and Medical Jurisprudence) and Charak Samhita (Uttarardh).

THE FINAL PROFESSIONAL comprise of 05 subjects: Shalya Tantra (General surgery), Shalakya Tantra (Eye and ENT), Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), Panchkarma, Research Methodology & Medical Statistics.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION AND STUDY
Medium of Instruction and study is Sanskrit, Hindi, and English.

INTAKE CAPACITY
60 students per year intake capacity permitted by NCISM.

FEES
As per Government of Uttar Pradesh norms.

DEGREE TO BE AWARDED:
The degree of “Ayurvedacharya (B.A.M.S. - Bachelor of Ayuvedic Medicine and surgery)” is awarded by the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University after successful completion of course.
