Dravya Guna (Materia edica & Pharmacology)

Medicinal plants form a vital link in maintenance of health and disease either as food or medicine. Consequently, meticulous knowledge of medicinal plants is essential for health and effective treatment. Dravyaguna, a branch of Ayurveda, deals with the identification, collection, storage, and usage of medicinal plants for disease prevention & cure. It has a herbal garden consisting of varied species of plants and herbs used to train scholars and the public about their therapeutic uses. The museum of the department enriches the knowledge of medicinal plants and their uses.

Maulik Siddhant (Fundamental Principles)

Maulik Siddhanta is the Core Department of Ayurveda. It deals with the fundamentals on which Ayurveda works. The department is involved in imparting the application of concepts in diagnosis and planning treatment. It demonstrates evaluative & judgment skills in making appropriate decisions. The students are given enhanced professional prosperity through exposure to the Gurukul tradition.

Rasa Shastra Evum Bhaishajya Kalpana (Iatro-Chemistry)

This Department is attributed with exploring the intricacies of pharmaceutical preparation, drug development, understanding its dynamics, drug discovery, quality control, standardization as well as establishing safety and efficacy of Ayurvedic formulations through experimental and clinical trials. The attached Training Pharmacy is equipped for preparation of Medicines as per the need of hospital.

Roga Nidana Evum Vikriti Vijyanam explains fundamentals of the various causes, clinical features, pathogenesis, and diagnostic principles of diseased individuals. it helps to understand the basis of laboratory investigations. all these are assessed to select an appropriate treatment plan to combat the disease.

Sharira Kriya (Physiology)

The term “Sharira” means “the knowledge” and “Kriya” means “Function”. Sharira Kriya therefore deals with the normal functions of the body and mind. Sharira Kriya is the specialty of Ayurveda which deals with the study of the normal functioning of the body and mind. This subject provides the ground base knowledge of body, mind & senses functions, and dysfunctions which helps in a critical understanding of disease process and insight to disease management and prevention. Physiology is the core of medical wisdom. Its enormous contribution is responsible for the growth of medical technology and clinical management. Physiology is said to be the best friend of the Physician. If we don’t know the normal functioning of the body then it is impossible to treat the abnormal one.

Sharira Kriya

Sharira Rachana (Anatomy)

The term “Shareer” literally means “The Knowledge” and “Rachana” means “the Creation” or “Structure”. Sharira Rachana is the scientific study of the structure of organisms including their systems, organs,and tissues. It includes the appearance and position of the various parts, the materials from which they are composed, their locations, and their relationships with other parts. Anatomy is also called a must-have friend for the surgeon because if we don’t know the normal structure of the body then how can we treat the abnormal one. The Department is equipped with Dissection Hall with tank for cadaver and a Museum.
